COMMUNITY SERVICE AND CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS
Active member of several Indian and American Social Service Organizations; a few contributions include:
EDUCATION:
Redeveloped three completely rundown government schools in Bhadrachalam, Andhra Pradesh with over $250,000 personal contribution. They have become some of the best model schools in the state of AP. More than 2000 students from lower middle class families are enjoying a corporate style educational felicities at no cost.
Provided Financial assistance to 37 students at IITs, Medical, Engineering, and other colleges in India via scholarships. Some of the very talented but less-fortunate students were benefited to pursue their higher education.
Assisted government colleges in establishing drinking water facilities in Bhadrachalam.
Contributed $10,000, raised $100,000 and established scholarships for economically disadvantaged students (Siddhartha Engineering College, Vijayawada) from alumni solicitations (through the TANA Foundation).
Contributed and conducted several educational, and professional development seminars for students and teachers in A.P.
Contributed over $20,000 to The Fay School, one of America’s oldest preparation schools.
Donated notebooks, textbooks, school supplies, backpacks, and sporting goods to thousands of school children in India and the U.S.
Contributed to the Akshra Yagnam program, dedicated to eradicating illiteracy in Andhra Pradesh.
Contributed to the redevelopment of playgrounds in the Krishna, Khammam, and Srikakulam districts of Andhra Pradesh.
HUMANITY:
Constructed and donated a $50,000 worth guesthouse for pilgrims of Sri Rama Temple in Bhadrachalam.
Donated sweaters, clothes, and blankets to several poor children at various orphanages, hostels and villages in Andhra Pradesh.
Contributed over $25,000 to the Indo-American Cancer Research Institute, Sankara Eye Foundation and Lions Eye Hospital in Andhra Pradesh.
Assisted to raise funds and contributed $2,500 to TANA Foundation’s Child Rescue Shelter in Vijayawada.
Donated money to build lift irrigation projects on the banks of Godavari River to help the farmers.
Contributed several thousands of dollars and conducted several health camps, eye camps, blood drives in remote tribal villages of Khammam district.
Donated eye glasses to thousands of villagers in Khammam district.
Contributed to the Little Sisters of the Poor, a home for elderly in Guntur district, to build a clean water supply system.
Participated and contributed to several service projects though Rotary International, the Red Cross, the American Heart Association, Audubon Society, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Salvation Army.
INDIAN CULTURE & SPORTS FOR CHILDREN:
Donated over $100,000 to Telugu Associations, Cultural, and Non-profit organizations across North America to promote Indian culture and heritage.
Assisted several Telugu Associations across North America to increase their member participation in their programs.
Has been sponsoring and organizing state level sports and cultural competitions in Khammam and Krishna districts.
Encouraged, sponsored and assisted several Telugu writers, poets, singers and artists.
